Downing Renewable Developments appoints Head of Finland
Downing Renewable Developments (DRD), a subsidiary of investment manager Downing, has appointed Arto Hirvonen as Head of DRD Finland as it continues to expand its operations in the Nordics.
The company, which was recently awarded planning consent for a 49.9 MW solar farm in Norfolk as part of its 6GW pipeline of development projects across the UK, is targeting further solar and storage developments in the Nordics.
Arto Hirvonen brings more than 16 years' experience in the energy sector, including roles in electricity networks, district heating, and renewable energy. He has led the development of several wind and solar projects including one of Finland’s largest windfarms. Before joining Downing Renewable Developments he worked for Neoen Renewables Finland OY and Fortum Power & Heat OY.
