What is a Corporate Power Purchase Agreement (CPPA)?

A CPPA is a contract under which a business agrees to buy some or all of its electricity directly from a renewable energy generator, such as a solar or wind farm (which is connected to the grid).

What is the duration of a CPPA?

Downing can offer a range of contract lengths to suit your business energy procurement strategy. This could range from 5 to 15 years for a CPPA up to 25 years for a private-wire PPA.

Are CPPAs a cost effective way to purchase green energy?

Yes - CPPAs are a cost effective way to purchase green energy, offering long-term price certainty, protection from market volatility, and direct access to renewable power without upfront capital investment.

What is a Virtual PPA?

Virtual PPAs allow buyers access to low-carbon electricity and the associated renewable certificates through a financial arrangement only; there is no physical supply point. Downing offer Virtual PPA's.

Will the energy be RE100 compliant?

Yes - alongside supplying renewable energy from operational solar and wind farms across the UK and Nordics, Downing also offers RE100 compliant energy sourced from our pipeline of new renewable projects currently under development.
