The project
Downing Renewable Developments are currently developing proposals for Sheenhill Solar Farm, a new Solar PV scheme to be located near Honeybourne, Worcestershire.
Sheenhill Solar Farm has the potential to accelerate the UK’s transition to Net Zero and make a significant contribution to increasing our energy security, at a time of both rising energy bills and the increasing urgency to tackle the climate emergency.
Sheenhill Solar Farm will have an installed capacity of 18MW, this is the equivalent to supplying energy to 5,000 homes annually.
Site layout
Site layout to be progressed following site surveys and assessments.
Our commitment
We have a long-term vision for Sheenhill Solar Farm which helps to address the UK's energy crisis, provides substantial biodiversity net gain, and supports farmers, local agriculture, and the local community.
We carefully evaluate the impact our development will have on local habitats, plants and animals to develop a long-term plan. For Sheenhill Solar Farm, that delivers at least 10% biodiversity than before the site was installed.
This biodiversity can come in many forms such as planting wildflowers to provide bees, butterflies and other pollinators with food sources to recovering degraded peatland in the area. We will be working alongside vital stakeholders and the community to decide what is best for the area.
Forming a strong relationship with the community that we serve is important to us and we are continually exploring ways we can better support local initiatives. We value your feedback and try to reflect it in the way the project is designed, like the inclusion of permissive pathways and the retention and creation of wildlife habitats.
